ABOUT ME

Me.jpg

Lorenzo Luci was born in Rome. He grew up in a highly creative environment, thanks to his parents, both artists. As a child he began to immerse himself in the arts, especially in drawing. He attended the Art School of Rome M. Mafai where he graduated in 2011. From 2018 he resumed his activity as a painter, fully immersed in the search for his own style, particularly interested in human relationships, the unconscious and its manifestations.

The subjects of his paintings become witnesses of an inner world, inviting the observer on a personal journey through a play of intimate looks, where the figures intersect with the environment that surrounds them, manifesting the anguishing beauty of being, here and now.

POETICS

"In every work I try to travel inside the canvases as if they were my body. A window or other frames with the function of access points to my inner space, which like open wounds in the skin show bodies and memories as evanescent, mutilated, fragmented. The subjects depicted appear as inside a film set, leaving the role of the director to the user. In this dynamic of democratic glances, I leave to everyone the freedom to compose, undo and recompose the meaning and dramaturgy of the work."
